"Experiencing Grace, Growing in Love"

We desire to be a church where anyone and everyone can experience grace from God and others; and grow in love for God and others.

This might seem like a given for churches, but many of us grew up with the idea that we have to earn God’s love, to be good enough for God. We live in a world where performance, success, and achievement are the standards for how we measure the worth of a person. And it’s easy for us to think God values us in the same way – but He doesn’t.

Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It’s God choosing to love us, bless us, and favor us not because of what we do, but because of what Jesus has done for us. Every person, no matter who they are or what they have done, is invited to discover and experience a love that is unconditional, unlimited, and undeserved (Romans 5:1-2; 8).

Furthermore, it’s by grace that we grow in love for God and others. The simple, but profound truth, is that the more grace we experience, the more we will love (Matthew 22:37-40; 1 John 4:19).

At CBC, we desire to experience grace and grow in love because that reflects who God is and how we were created to live.
